Dear Mother and all
I will answer your letter I got Yesterday and was glad to hear from you I am
well and hope you are the same.
It is raining down here now and is awfully cool. we was supposed to go
swimming yesterday but it was to cold.
We are still wearing our summer unform we don't wear any coat but I guess we
will soon wear out winter unform. boy they sure do give you a bunch of
cloths in the army. I've got 7 shirts 7 pair paints, one sport jacket one
over coat, one of those little short coats, 2 pair shoes 6 pair socks 5 under
shirts and draws 5 handkichef, 2 ties, 2 caps, one pair gloves, 3 towls, a
shaving boush and razor and legons, a helmet liner and a steel helmet cardge
belt and a lot of things I have more than I know what to do with. I got a
Rifle and baynet to go on the end of the Rifle for to stab the Japs and Germans.
We have to shoot the machine tomorrow each man shoots 280 bullets. its a
30 calber it shoots 650 rounds a minutes it weighs about 80 lbs. I got a
buch of Metals that I won for shooting the Rifle and throwing gernades shooting
the bar Rifle and a lot more things we do a lot shooting.
I guess it is cold enough to snow up there. I am about 800 Hundred miles
south of Virginia and it is pretty cool down here, Florida ant but 200
miles from here we are at the lower end of Georgia we come all the way through
Georgia to get to this camp. We come through Altanta Georgia it was a
pretty place. When Luther was at home on a furlgho he said he went through
Altantia Georgia and he said it was the pretties place he had ever saw.
Have Papa ever shucled and corn yet I guess it is time for to suck corn.
How many car low of wood have papa ever cut over on that place. I guess it
is a lot more over there, have youall ever decided when youall is going to
move.

I got a letter from Va and Cecil Yesterday and they asked me if it was any thing
I wanted to let them know. I think I will write and tell them that they
can buy me a fountain pin if they want to, this Fountain pin I am using now is a
nother boys he is laying on the bunk sleeping now. Will since news is
scarce I will close answer soon.
