July 16, 1943
Dear Mother and all
I will write you a letter to let you know that I am well and having a good time,
we play ball every day and go to free movies every night James S was shipped
away this morning. and I am supposed to leave tomorrow. I don’t know when I
will go 2 Shaver boys that come down here we are leaving to gether. Early Kent left Thursday. Just
as soon as I get to the next camp. and if any boys you know is there let me know
in.
Just as soon as I get to a nother camp you can have it filled out and sent to me. I am sending some clothes home too. We sure did get a bunch of clothes. We got down here a bout 6:30 oclock. I like it ok. Movies every night. Be sure to get the papers filled out night. You are suppose to keep some of them keep the insurance papers.
James Shiflett is the Co. B. with me. We sleep close together. I
guess you all went to church Sunday. We
will be shipped a way about Thursday. Don’t
forget I sign up for you and Papa get them filled out as soon as you can.
Since news is scarce I will close.
